We have decided to explore the great outdoors here in the good old Wasatch Front. Every Saturday we hike a different area and enjoy the great Fall weather together. My mom will definitly join us on all of our adventures. She is a sucker for hiking and really is a lot of fun to hike with. This last weekend we hiked Adam's Canyon, it was BEAUTIFUL. The trail head is in East Layton. I definitly recommend this hike for those of you who haven't already been. Once you get into the canyon it is completely shady and you mostly walk right next to a "river." River, not so much, but it is larger than a small creek! Once you get to the top there is 50 foot waterfall that is gorgeous and very refreshing, especially for YANKEE! We enjoyed a snack at the top and then made our way down. On our way down we let Yankee off his leash. We were so proud of our little guy. He would run ahead of us and find the best route for us, then he would turn around and come back and find us and lead us down. Sometimes we would turn the corner and he would be standing there waiting for us. As soon as he knew we were ok he would run ahead a little bit! What a good little boy! The hike is only 4 miles round trip and isn't especially tough. This weekend we will hike another trail and I will be sure to post more pictures!

Look closely to the one with Yankee in it. He was loving the water. He would run full speed and jump in and he was even dunking his entire head under water. Our expectations for the waterfall weren't too high when we started but once we were at the top we were very surprised to see so much water!

That hike was great especially since I got to do it with you and Phil. I am so looking forward to a hike every Saturday.....then snow shoeing in the winter
Fun stuff, Whit! Zach and I used to do the same thing every Saturday...hasn't happened in months though, seeing that my kids now want to do the hiking versus being carried in the pack. (As you can tell, it makes for a VeRy LoNg hike these days. :) Anyway, let's PLEASE get together again soon. I'm in serious need of a good GNO! luv ya!
