The Island of Isla Mujeres!

Life in Cancun is bliss! We spent most of our time in swimming suits on the beach or at the pool. The kids were pretty much just interested in swimming, with the exception of SHOPPING with their own money that Papa gave to each of them! It didn't take long for them to realize that everybody is trying to sell them the same JUNK! "Better than Wal-Mart, Cheaper than K-Mart" are a few of the comments we heard every day from the locals trying to sell their goods! Everytime I go to Mexico it is the same old JUNK; if they would only learn that we don't want hammocks and mexican blankets anymore, we want PURSES and DESIGNER CLOTHES! I think I would make a killing of the tourists if I set up my own shop down there with items that are actually interesting!

Before we left for Mexico the kids were always asking Uncle Phil what their names would be in Spanish! These are the names that Phil came up with right on the spot for each of them, keep in mind they totally believed him! Austin- El Geeko...Zac- DuffEs...Kiley- La Retardo! The first day in Mexico Zac was sitting up front in our Taxi and he looked over at the driver with a VERY SERIOUS look and said, "Me Nombre es DuffEs!" (my name is Duffis) We all busted up laughing. I really didn't think he thought that was his name...but he did! The driver just looked at him and smiled, I don't think he understood a word he said!

Towards the end of our vacation we all rented Mopeds to tour the Island that we were staying on. We had a blast! Renae and her family actually rented a golf cart instead because of all the little kids! The Island is so pretty and it was so fun to stroll around the little side streets and see the way the people live. I was a shock to kids to say the least!

Nana and Addi! Addison LOVED the water! She always wanted to be in it. If we were watching she would just walk right off the edge into the pool!

We went snorkeling in the middle of the ocean! The fish were so colorful and the water was so clear....it was a great experience for all of us! Even the kids LOVED it!


You can't really tell from this pic because it was night time! These were the mopeds we cruised on all day around the island! We had a blast honking our horns at the locals and being crazy!

I seriously have the greatest mom and sister! We had so much fun together! Everytime I am anywhere with my mom we always get comments that we look like sisters..not mother and daughter! My mom LOVES it I think!!!!



This was a typical day for little Addi! She had a rough time adapting to our GO, GO, GO theory!
